The Restaurant On Grumbles Alley

By clicking on the top image you will be able to see the Edmond Pettus Bridge in the background

Picture yourself on a pleasant May evening on a veranda near a river with friends, music, great food, a light breeze and yes ....in The South Ya'll
One of my favorite places to eat in Selma Alabama is The Restaurant On Grumbles Alley. The food is so "Melt in Your Mouth."Steak, Shrimp, Crab Claws, Oysters, Gourmet Burgers ,Salads, Chicken...... I could go on and on.

Sitting on the banks of the Alabama River on Water Ave. as you look toward the historic Edmond Pettus Bridge. The building itself dates back with rich history of the 1800's. The atmosphere is casual and the service is just awesome.
If you ever get a chance to come to the Heart of Dixie The Restaurant On Grumbles Alley is the place to stop, regroup, nourish and enjoy.
I am sure there are some locals that can back me up on this!
Happy Thursday Ya'll Lets Head to Grumbles!!

It's a Beautiful Morning

You can almost smell the roses if you click on the image

The climbing blush rose blooms in my yard only last for a few weeks.
The rain that is on the way will knock off most of the the blooms
.............so I had to get some photos quick!

Whole Bloomin’ Thing” Spring Festival

I took this photo of my Greatniece at last years Festival
The 7th Annual “Whole Bloomin’ Thing” Spring Festival in Waynesville’s Frog Level North Carolina area will kick off the growing season from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 9, with a host of plants, art, food and music.
This popular festival — Frog Level’s largest event of the year — features local growers selling flowering baskets, vegetable and herb starts, berry bushes, and potted plants to jump start the garden.
Local artists will feature a wide range of nature-inspired gifts and handicrafts – from baskets to beads, soap to stemware, bags to birdhouses, wreaths, jewelry, planters, and dozens of original decorative creations.
Enjoy fresh goat cheese, fruit preserves, hummus, homemade cookies, hand-churned ice cream, funnel cakes, hamburgers, and barbecue all day long.
The famous Frog Level Philharmonic, along with Voices in the Laurel and local favorite Chris Minick, join fabulous Celtic musicians and Hill Country Bluegrass to provide live entertainment throughout the day.

-------------------------------------
Last year was the first time I attended this event and when I came back I did some reasearch on this area...."Frog Level".While looking I found some awesome photos here on net of the Smokie Mountian area of Waynesville Maggie Valley area and formed a friendship with with a fellow blogger, "Bucking The Real Estate Trend".Truth is if I had not been looking at her blog I might not be doing mine at this moment. Susie was my inspiration
