1 1/4 cup root beer soda
1 tablespoon root beer flavoring

Glaze
1 cup confectioners sugar
2 tbs. root beer
Drizzle over cake after cooled

Triple Bypass Surgery

I have had a hard time doing this blog and it has taken me a week to do a post. My husband had a heart attack early morning on Aug.1 2010.Our dog Buddy woke him up around 4am and it was not for an outside walk.Pain in Donny's arms were as he described very bad pain but no chest pain.I then took his blood pressure which was 209/90. Out the door we flew after he took 10 aspirins and made it to the hospital just in time. After about 40 minutes he began to have a heart attack and medication was administered on the spot and saved the heart of any damage.Late that afternoon he was transported to Baptist South Montgomery and early Aug 2nd the heart cathersation took place. Three block arteries First 90%,Second 80% and third 40%. Due to heavy smoking 3 to 4 packs a day the doctors told me he will not be able to have one more if he wants to make the Triple Bypass Surgery . The surgery was Friday Aug 6th and he had 4 days that he literally paced the floor.He went in at 6:30 am. , surgery was complete at 10:00 am and was breathing on his own and awake and aware by 1:00 pm.Recovery was at an accelerated speed.He came home Monday Aug 9th and doing so well.
We both have quit smoking!
